Point Dume

Point Dume in Malibu is a good spot to scuba dive because it offers a variety of marine life and underwater terrain to explore. The rocky reef structure provides a habitat for a diverse array of fish and invertebrates, and the kelp forest is home to sea urchins, octopus, and sea stars. Additionally, the clear waters provide excellent visibility, making it a great spot for experienced divers. Although all this sounds great I only recommend advanced divers try to make it out to the pinnacles.
This is considered an 8/10 difficulty and should not be taken lightly. If there is any current I would highly advise against going past the first pinnacle. The current will sweep you out to sea if you are not careful. The valley is a sharp drop and can go down to around 75 feet so keep an eye on your buoyancy and have a safe descent! The visibility is on average 20 to 35 feet. On some lucky days during the fall you can get up to 60 feet of viz.
Access to the point is at the end of Westward Beach Road. Once you get there the state beach should have free parking.
Always dive with a buddy and be careful when going out there especially on your first time there.
