The Two-Spot Octopus

The Two-Spot Octopus, often referred to as the Bimac, is native to the Southern California coast. These fellas have big blue eyespots on each side of their heads. They are very friendly but timid to anything bigger than them. They only live to about 2 years old but are all around. They prefer to dwell in rocky reefs, small caves or holes, and especially abandoned pipes. They have highly developed eyes to support their nocturnal behavior. So while you're out on your night dives with us at Vets Park, keep an eye out as they are looking for some mollusks, crustaceans, and occasionally fish to eat.
