Steve Lang is one of our most popular instructors here at Eco Dive Center. Teammates enjoy his positive attitude and his wealth of knowledge. He's a great asset to our Los Angeles dive community.

Bio: I was certified back in the Dark Ages of diving; back before such niceties as "BCDs" and "SPGs". I have spent a very significant portion of my life on, in and under the World's oceans. Originally I started out like most of my peers, as an avid hunter & gatherer, but somewhere over the course of my years underwater I noticed the oceans and its inhabitants changing, and not for the better. I found myself worrying about the future of our oceans. This led to a changing focus in my undergraduate studies - to learn more about marine ecology, marine biology - which in turn led to a change in the nature of my time spent underwater. I found a ready market for my experience as a diver in the fields of marine science and became certified as a scientific diver soon after this became a thing. Now I find myself in a position where the next generation is coming of age - my many nephews, nieces, godsons/daughters, who have grown up listening to me tell them about the wonders of the marine environments, and how they will soon be responsible for the survival of our oceans - so now I enjoy passing on the knowledge and skills necessary for divers to experience this for themselves.
